Harmony From Complexity

As part of a broader initiative to refresh the Hennessy brand, we redesigned packaging across the range for greater impact and consistency. This required a delicate balance: reinforce brand coherence across the portfolio while preserving each product's individuality.

The Approach

Our approach was to create unity through distinction, with a design system celebrating the unique sculptural form of each iconic bottle. This solution emphasizes each product's distinctness while visually connecting the range through a shared language of fluidity and sculptural elegance.

Paradis

The Paradis giftbox expresses our concept at its highest level: a carafe that appears to emerge from gold-tinted wood, creating a dramatic play of material and light to enhance its luxury.

We partnered with Danzer, a premium wood producer renowned for its patented 3D veneer technology, to develop the lightweight, durable wooden shell. Repurposed waste wood was used for the interior structure. This collaboration united innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship, reinforcing Paradis as the pinnacle of the Hennessy brand and establishing it as a leader in premium spirits.

X.O


First created in 1870, X.O is an emblematic cognac within the Hennessy range. We redesigned the grapevines embedded in the carafe, bringing to them the same fluidity as our redesign of the bras armé icon. The giftbox luxuriously captures the distinctive X.O silhouette through multiple embossings and foils.

V.S.O.P

We fully redesigned V.S.O.P to give it a distinctive identity within the range. Drawing from the brand’s archives, the historic carafe shape was carefully refined, rebalancing its proportions and reducing glass weight. A iconic bras armé emblem was placed prominently on the bottle to give V.S.O.P a strong character that extends beyond the packaging. To further differentiate the expression, a new signature red, echoing both the color of cognac and V.S.O.P’s elevated yet eclectic personality, was introduced to the gift box. The redesign re-established V.S.O.P as a pinnacle of the Hennessy brand and created an enduring foundation for future editions and activations.

V.S had a fiercely loyal customer base; our approach was a careful redesign that elevated the existing elements — the signature grapevines and the quilted macaron — making them more refined while aligning the design principles with the rest of the range. A black giftbox captures V.S's strong silhouette as well as its energy and artistry.
