As part of a broader initiative to refresh the Hennessy Masterbrand, we redesigned packaging across the entire core range for greater impact and consistency. This required a delicate balance: reinforce brand coherence across the portfolio while preserving each product's individuality. To solve for both, our approach was built on the idea of "creating unity through distinction." We developed a design system celebrating the sculptural form of each iconic bottle. This solution emphasized each product's distinctness while visually connecting the range through a shared language of fluidity and sculptural elegance.
As the most exclusive and complex product within the core range, Paradis created a prime opportunity to stress test our design system. Its packaging embodies the concept in its most refined expression. A heroic representation of our design solution, the bottle silhouette physically emerges through gold-tinted wood. The result is a striking interplay of material and light that elevates Paradis' premium appeal.
Finding the right partner and forging a productive relationship was crucial to the outcome. To bring this vision to life, we went beyond category convention and partnered with Danzer, a premium wood producer known for its patented 3D veneer technology typically used in high-end furniture. Together, we engineered a lightweight yet strong wooden shell with an interior constructed using repurposed waste wood from the exterior's outer veneer production. The result reinforced Paradis’ status as the pinnacle of the Hennessy Masterbrand—uniting sustainability, luxury, and technical excellence. The packaging became a signal of craftsmanship and leadership in a crowded premium spirits category.
